Overview
When Janine Scott was selected as the winner of our free walk-in shower competition, we were delighted to give her existing bathroom a safer and more accessible showering area.
Although Janine had won the installation, we wanted her experience to be exactly the same as any other AJT Showers customer.
This wasn’t about arriving with a predetermined package and simply fitting it. We wanted Janine to have a walk-in shower designed around her needs, her existing bathroom and her personal choices.
Before any work began, AJT Showers Director Jordan Talbot personally visited Janine at home to discuss what she would like from her new walk-in shower and talk her through the different options available.
Once Janine had made her choices, we agreed the specification, booked an installation date and got everything ready.
What Janine was looking for:
- No climbing
- No awkward movements
- A safer, more accessible space
- A bathroom that felt comfortable, dignified, and easy to use every single day
Property Assessment & Design Considerations
For the shower area, Janine chose Snowflake Sparkle wall boards, creating a bright, clean finish that is also practical and easy to maintain.
The installation included:
AKW shower tray
AKW Arka shower valve
Boost pump fitted to improve the shower performance
800mm wet room shower screen
300mm splash guard
Chrome grab rails
Snowflake Sparkle wall boards
New basin and semi-pedestal
The rest of Janine’s bathroom wasn’t being replaced as part of the competition.
The aim was to concentrate on the areas that mattered: replacing her existing showering arrangement with a more accessible walk-in shower and installing the new basin and semi-pedestal alongside it.

Installation Process
AJT Showers Directors Jordan and Aiden Talbot personally carried out the work, completing Janine’s new walk-in shower, basin and semi-pedestal in just one day.
As a family-run company, both Jordan and Aiden have hands-on installation experience, so for our competition winner they decided to get the tools back out and complete the job themselves.
By the end of the day, Janine had a completely new walk-in showering area with the safety features and finishes she had chosen during Jordan’s initial visit.
