Tim and Alison have been married for an incredible 53 years. They have three children, six grandchildren, and a home filled with love, humour, and resilience.

Alison was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s ten years ago. As the condition progressed, she gradually stopped speaking about three years ago, though, as Tim says—her expressive face still tells you everything you need to know.

In the last couple of years, the everyday movements most people take for granted, standing on one leg, stepping up, turning, balancing have become increasingly difficult for Alison.

Despite this, Tim and Alison still enjoy walks together and share plenty of laughter. But the bathroom became a growing challenge.

Their old shower was a small corner enclosure, which required Tim to lean in awkwardly, reach around the frame, and physically support Alison. It was uncomfortable, physically straining, and often unsafe. For Alison, stepping in and out became a “climbing challenge,” and for Tim, it was becoming harder and harder to help her safely.

There were periods, especially after Alison became very unwell over a previous Christmas, when showering was nearly impossible. They needed a safer, more accessible, more comfortable solution to keep Alison clean, supported, and dignified.

During the home survey, it was clear that Alison needed a showering environment that:
